New direction for textiles

The very first experimental cushion covers using multiple stencilled images in various colours. Very labour intensive

It started as an idea after noticing magazine articles on stencilling and a visit to England. I was finding my love of colour that I was enjoying through my flower paintings was stifled when it came to screen printing. The cost of multiple screens to print the various colours I was enjoying in my paintings was just going to be expensive. I screen print my textiles on the print tables my father made for me and none have a precise way of placing a screen so the idea of multiple screens to gain the colours was too hit and miss and would lead to just too many textile rejects.

They are a long way from ever being skirts due to the sheer time required to create these textiles. so last week I took the whole week to explore stencilling textiles and my cushions are the result. They have striped ticking backs and piped edges, Each has a zip and fits a 45cm cushion pad. No two are the same although some are similar so will go well together on a settle or bed.

I have them all on display in my workshop, I think they look even better than in the photographs. If you order on line then you do need to state the cushion number as stated in the photograph within the additional information section of the order page.
