Summer this year is floral

I have just returned from summer in Europe and it was beautifully hot but above all the skirts and dresses were floral, from small retro prints to the big and beautiful splashes of painted colour.

I am taking my summer skirts into a new shape and buying in some of the beautiful cotton printed fabrics. please see the first of my new direction, I have enjoyed the wash and wear trials of this skirt for the last few weeks and very pleased with the outcome. It is great for cycling in but not gardening as the hem gets muddy.

As an illustrator and gardener I like my flowers to accurately depicted so I have found this beautiful turquoise fabric decorated with large pink and red roses impossible to resist. This print was brought in so you will need to order now for summer, there is only a very limited supply of cloth. The large pattern pieces for this skirt with its full long hem means when you are cutting out each one it takes a lot of fabric, thus the more expensive price. I have made each individual skirt in my Nelson workshop, so each skirt will last more than a season and can be adjusted to size another year if required. I have included 2 large pockets in the front as you can fill them with phones etc and not change the look of the skirt.

The longer shape will protect your legs from sunburn and keep you feeling cooler, summer is almost here.
