This includes all garments that are not stock or standard MADCAT size. They cannot be exchanged as a result of a change of mind but will be altered to your satisfaction.
If you have already ordered or own a made to measure skirt then I have your measurements on file. Please select “refer to my measurements on file” in the size selection when you order. You can always contact me to confirm this and check I have sufficient fabric on site, before you make a payment. There is no additional cost for the made to measure service when I have your measurements on file.
If this is your first MADE TO MEASURE order you will need to contact me. I will explain the measurements I need listed below to complete your order. You can then pay by internet banking or by phone me with your credit card details. There is an additional one-off charge of $30 for this service.
Waist – this is the smallest horizontal measurement about half way between your bust and your hips. If you are not sure where this is, tie a ribbon tightly around your waist and it will work its way to the correct place. Your skirt will be made to this measurement so do not make it too tight – just comfortable.
Hip – this is another horizontal measurement about 20 cm /8 ” below your waist. It covers the fullness of your bottom. If you are above or below average height of 5’6” (168 cm) then your hip line will be fractionally higher or lower than this. All skirts are cut 1-2 cm larger than your hipline measurement so the fabric does not cling to your bottom.
Length – this is taken from your waist down your outside leg to the length you require your skirt to finish.
If you know a dressmaker, they could help you take these measurements or you could phone me and I could talk you through how to take your body measurements and help you select a flared or straight shape.
This is the standard stock size of MADCAT skirts, you might want to consider one of the cheaper options listed –
A standard size MADACT skirt, but LONGER? The skirts can be made up to 15 cm longer than stock size. There is no extra cost but it cannot be returned or exchanged. Please contact me to check with me that I have sufficient unprinted fabric in the workshop for your order. Longer skirts are printed with the textile design set a different distance to the hem to make the print on the skirt look balanced. If this is your first order thus I do not have your details on file you can only order this longer skirt by email or phone.
A standard size MADACT skirt SHORTER than standard, there is no extra cost but it cannot be returned or exchanged. The skirts are cut so the print remains the same distance from the hem as a standard garment These are cut out and made up as required. Please contact me to confirm that I have sufficient unprinted fabric in the workshop for your order. If this is your first order thus I do not have your details on file you can only order this shorter skirt by email or phone.
A standard size MADACT skirt made BETWEEN THE STANDARD SIZES? Both flared and straight skirts can be made up in between sizes at no extra cost. You will need to decide on the length you require the skirt to be e.g. small length or the medium length. Please contact me to confirm that I have sufficient unprinted fabric in the workshop for your order. If your MADCAT skirt needs to have a LARGER WAIST? All MADCAT skirts are designed to allow the waist to be increased by up to 6 cm. There is an $18 fee for changing the waistband. If your MADCAT skirt needs to have a SMALLER WAIST? You will need to consider if you want the increased waist shaping to be on the side seams or into the back darts, or both.
