Description

In 2013, I purchased from the Founders Park annual book sale an interesting book titled  ‘William Morris as Designer’ by Ray Watkinson first published in 1969. Its pages are full of black and white photographs of his designs for fabrics and wallpapers. It is here I discovered an unfinished sketch called ‘working drawing for Bluebell Chintz designed by William Morris Courtesy, Victoria and Albert Museum. I made a study of the work and then added a little more until i finished it off for him. I have since found his finished textile ‘Bluebell Printed Cotton’ but I think I prefer my interpretation.

What a beautiful skirt – looks so good in blue and as comfortable as promised.
